NAME: Steven Busby
BIRTH YEAR: 1982
HOMETOWN: Busselton, WA
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Perth, WA
SANDBOARD(S): Freestyle 'Assault'
RIDING SINCE: 11 years
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE & WHERE: I try to get out as often as possible but usually end up only going once a week in summer and once a month in winter (don't like the wet sand)
FAVE LOCATION: The massive dunes at Horrocks Beach, WA. By far the biggest and steepest runs I have ever ridden with the average run going fo about 150m. The sheer speed you can pick up carving down these dunes whilst dodging the numerous bushes dotted down the slope, makes the ride feel more like you're snowboarding.
FAVE TRICK: Melancholy grab whilst trying to get as much air as possible. I like this move mainly because it was one of the first grabs I mastered. So now i can confidently go off any jump and pull this move and land it no problems.
DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF RIDING: I love carving down big steep fast dunes, can't beat that feeling of speed.
Around my local area where the dunes are smaller, I like to practice more on jumps, grabs, and 360's.
OTHER INTERESTS: Anything outdoors! Fishing, diving, 4x4, hunting, archery, snowboarding, mountain biking, camping, sea kayaking are just to name a few of the things I love to do.
